Ross Salinger has over 30 years of information technology and management experience in financial services technology and operations. He served as CIO for Credit Suisse First Boston and as MD for Front Office Technology at both Bankers Trust Company and Credit Suisse. Earlier in his career he worked at Salomon Brothers, JPMorgan Chase (Chemical Bank) and Lehman Brothers, where he held management positions in information technology. He has extensive international experience, including 6 years based in London.
Joining Barrington in 2007, Ross worked on middle office outsourcing projects for Rainier Investment Management, Calamos Investments and Cantillon Capital as well as technology strategy engagements at several other asset management firms. During 2010 and 2011 he was responsible for creating and managing the execution of a technology strategy for a large West Coast asset management firm. During 2011 and 2012 Mr. Salinger executed varying consulting assignments for large New York-based investment bank in their Technology Information Risk IT unit.
From 2001 until joining Barrington Partners in October 2007, Mr. Salinger was an SVP at State Street Corporation working in the Investment Manager operations outsourcing business. He managed the outsourced information technology for both PIMCO and JW Seligman. At PIMCO he implemented a number of strategic objectives including the globalization of the accounting platform; a resilient IT infrastructure (including business recovery); and an STP solution. He later worked as an internal consultant on a number of outsourcing and system evaluation projects in both North America and Europe.
Before joining State Street, Mr. Salinger worked as an independent consultant with clients including Merrill Lynch, Barclay’s Capital and ABN AMRO Bank. His assignments ranged from technical assessments to the preparation of board level presentations to managing groups of programmers.
Mr. Salinger is a magna cum laude graduate of New York University.
