Barrington Partners has had a very specific focus within the financial services / investment management industry since our founding in 1995. This specialized knowledge allows us to operate quietly and quickly in our areas of expertise.
- By not straying from our core competencies, we can use staff with decades-long experience in specific market segments. We put appropriate staff on projects where their knowledge can be brought to bear.
- Our consulting, research and investment banking activities have allowed us to amass a considerable contact database. These contacts are part of the resources we use in completing many different types of assignments. We use our contacts on ‘Best Practices’ projects, for interviews in our Research projects, and for collecting specific knowledge for projects. In our investment banking work, our contacts allow us to work directly with the right contacts, moving quickly and quietly.
- We find that our efforts in Consulting, Research and Investment Banking frequently work in an interactive way. Information or knowledge from one area will support work in another.
- We routinely work for companies that ‘don’t hire consultants’ because our specialized knowledge is not a commodity.
- We do not use a Partner/Junior Staff approach. In our firm we actually don’t have junior staff. Our approach is to put Senior Partners on every project, allowing us to operate more efficiently and with experience that positively impacts the results.
- Our work is global in nature. While it varies year-to-year, our revenue from non-US sources commonly exceeds 40%. We are accustomed to working in and with issues in other domains.
